Until I became a mama myself, I could never have known just how quickly those first few months fly by (even though sometimes it seemed like we'd be in the newborn phase with sleepless nights forever!). You blink, and those days are gone. That's why baby and family photography has such a special place in my heart--because someday, those photos are going to be absolutely priceless and allow you to relive the first few months of your sweet baby's life (I'm not crying, you're crying!!!!)
This family was such a pleasure to work with. Drew, Tracie, and little Levi are maybe the most chill family in the world. Seriously! My approach to photography is less about posing you, and more about giving you space to enjoy the intimate moments you'll actually want to look back on any remember. So, that's exactly what we did. They acted like themselves as a family and I was lucky enough to capture it.
Alex worked for months to plan the perfect proposal.I don't know how he did it, but Kaitlyn was completely shocked when he popped the question on their trip! After afternoon tea at Fairmont Lake Louise, they took a walk by the lake until he found the perfect spot. He got down on one knee, played their song, told Kaitlyn what she meant to him and asked her to marry him. Don't you just have all the feels right now!?
The best part was that he'd secretly gotten her dad's permission and her grandmother's ring the last time they saw her parents. Every single moment of this proposal was so sweet and perfect!
I was in tears as I shot this session. You could truly feel their love powerfully resonating during this moment. The love and care he put into this proposal was so touching and I couldn't be more excited for them both!
