Alex worked for months to plan the perfect proposal.I don't know how he did it, but Kaitlyn was completely shocked when he popped the question on their trip! After afternoon tea at Fairmont Lake Louise, they took a walk by the lake until he found the perfect spot. He got down on one knee, played their song, told Kaitlyn what she meant to him and asked her to marry him. Don't you just have all the feels right now!?
The best part was that he'd secretly gotten her dad's permission and her grandmother's ring the last time they saw her parents. Every single moment of this proposal was so sweet and perfect! I was in tears as I shot this session. You could truly feel their love powerfully resonating during this moment. The love and care he put into this proposal was so touching and I couldn't be more excited for them both!

I honestly don't know if you could pick a more beautiful spot to capture memories than at Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park.
On a warm, summer day, I met up with Shawna and Chris near the Lake McDonald Lodge for our session. We had spent some time getting to know one another beforehand, and I loved hearing their story of how they met and learning more about what makes them "them"! It was so clear to me how much they loved each other, and I felt so lucky and grateful to be able to document and be a part of. One thing that has really been impressed upon me throughout all the craziness of 2020 is just how important our relationships and connections truly are. Moments that we share with our loved ones are truly...everything. I'll never take hugs for granted again! As a photographer, nothing brings me more joy than capturing moments like these. I want to capture moments of feeling in love, spending time together in awe-inspiring places, and even what it felt like at a certain age of your life. It sounds cliche, but photographs allow you to re-live the most beautiful and important moments of your life. They are powerful reflections, and documenting these memories brings me SO much joy! A place like Glacier National Park only highlights the beauty of the moments you experience there. And I truly felt that as I watched Shawna and Chris standing in front of the most incredible lake and mountains; as I saw the beautiful sunset reflect off the water; as I saw them forget they were taking pictures, and got lost in the moment with each other. |
